What date(s) would you prefer to have the next Overton Reunion?

What a wonderful time we all had at the 7th Overton Reunion in Los Angeles, CA. We thank the hosts and each family member for their participation. Even if you were unable to attend this past reunion you were in our thoughts and prayers.

In order to keep this wonderful tradition going and to help the 2011 Committee (Dallas, TX) make preparations, your opinion is highly valued as we would like to hear your feedback on a proposed date change. Your preference is strictly confidential and will only be used to improve and accommodate the various families we have. To secure dates & event locations, it is of extreme importance that you e-mail the committee stating your preference at: [e-mail] (simply stating which dates you prefer) OR if you registered and attended the 7th Overton Reunion in Los Angeles, CA you will be receiving a form in the mail within a few days that you can fill out and return to the Dallas Committee. Please pass the word to other family members. Time is of the essense, Please e-mail responses by Sat. August 8th, 2009.

The 2011 Overton Reunion will take place in DALLAS, TX.

Friday, June 30th thru Monday July 4th, 2011. Based on my understanding - It was voted on in the past that this is the time of the reunion until another vote by family members is conducted at a family reunion. So...Friday, June 30th - Monday, July 4th, 2011.

I would prefer friday June 30th- monday July 4th, 2011. Monday July 4th would be a great day to have a Backyard BBQ and end the day and our 8th family reunion watching the fire works. It also would give us a free day on Sunday to worship at say the Potters House or Friendship West Baptist Church for example. I support the decision of the committee whatever date is choosen. I must say this also that many may not be aware why there is a choice of dates for the reunion. There are serveral reasons for another option. One is that the the family reunion voted to change our reunions from five, then three and now two years apart. The 4th of July can be a difficult time for travel depending on the day it falls on because depending on the location and distance some may feel left out because of other plans and committments. The reunions are now every two years and a change of date should be addressed by everyone that wants to have there choice that works best for them and their family. This all said is to boost our attendance at our family reunions so that as many as possible can attend. Our attendance at our reunions has been declining and we would like to see our attendance go up starting at our next reunion is the reason for thechoice of dates. With much love, Ronald D. Slider.
